Monday 27th April: Supplies are running low!

It felt more like Summer than Spring today, and we were very busy at Bridgnorth Food Bank with several new clients. We were able to provide support to eleven families, nine couples and nineteen individuals. This made a total of 46 adults and 40 children. That’s over 14% more people we helped than a week ago.

Many thanks to local retailers, in particular the Co-op, Greggs and M&S Simply Food for their generous donations of perishable food, which was all very much appreciated by our clients. A big thank-you also to the local churches and individuals for their ongoing donations and support.

For all this, our volunteers reported today that we are actually running out of groceries, such is the need for help. So, if you are able to donate anything, it will be of great help to our work. One thing we had plenty donated this week were bags-for-life and ordinary strong carrier bags: really useful, please keep them coming!

We have run out of, or have very little in stock, of the following items: cartons of long-life milk, tinned soup, tinned vegetables, tinned tomatoes, bags of sugar, biscuits, tinned meat and fish, tinned fruit and tinned milk puddings, bottles of fruit squash, toilet rolls and toothpaste. And we are almost out of stock of cat food and dog food (tins, sachets and biscuits). But we still have plenty of dried pasta in stock!

Please note, Bridgnorth Food Bank will be open for business as usual on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May.
