It was another busy day at Bridgnorth Food Bank, where we were able to provide support to nineteen families, four couples and twelve individuals. This made a total of 40 adults and 48 children.
Our sincere thanks to local retailers for their kind donations of perishable food, which was, as always, much appreciated by our clients. We are also grateful to the local churches, retailers, other organisations and individuals for their donations of money and grocery items.
However, in August we spent £4,764 on food purchases, and we realistically expect this will need to increase with the onset of Autumn. Can you help us with this vital work?
Any item donated is quickly put to good use. We are in particular need of tinned meat and fish, tinned soup, tinned vegetables and fruit, breakfast cereals, cook-in sauces, biscuits, soap, long-life milk, pet food (for cats and dogs).
We regularly ask for donations of bags-for-life and ordinary strong carrier bags. Yesterday, someone donated a quantity of these bags. But our volunteers also had to use over 100 bags for the food parcels we gave out, so any bags that you can spare will be very useful.
Thank you.
