Getting Help

The Bridgnorth Food Bank is open every Monday (including Bank Holidays) from 10:30-12:30 but this is not a drop-in facility – one of partnering agencies (see below) will need to refer you to us.

They will provide initial advice and issue you with an Agency Referral Form so you can come along to the Food Bank.

Please contact any of these Agencies:

  • Shropshire Council

  • Citizens Advice Shropshire

  • Multi Agency Teams eg Early Help

  • Health Professionals eg Care in the Community, Health Visitors

  • Housing Associations if you are a tenant

  • Schools

  • Churches in Bridgnorth and the surrounding villages

Our aim is to provide short term assistance whilst your situation requires it, e.g. when Social Benefits etc. are being assessed.

How it works
  • Food is donated, checked for “best by” dates and stored, ready for distribution.
  • Local agencies (see opposite) refer people in need of assistance to the Bridgnorth Food Bank and issue them with a food voucher.
  • Clients come along to our Distribution Centre at Number Seven, West Castle Street, Bridgnorth with their voucher and we discuss with them their particular circumstances and needs.
  • We agree a support plan with a review date so we can check whether circumstances have changed and issue suitable items.
What else we do
We’re also able to provide information on organisations offering the following services:
  • Budgeting and financial management skills
  • Advice on who to contact for other support and assistance
  • Information on family-based activities and courses

Please let us know if you or someone you know would like more details.
