Getting busy for Christmas

Bridgnorth Food Bank was very busy on Monday 22nd December. We were able to provide food parcels for sixteen families, ten couples, eleven individuals plus one emergency. This made a total of 51 adults and 55 children.

Pat’s Café was exceptionally busy in the Baptist Church, and we had some members of the local Lynx Motor Cycle Club visit us, together with an impressive display of their bikes. They had recently raised £300 for Bridgnorth Food Bank (see separate news posting). And we had Father Christmas himself visiting, giving out Christmas gifts to the very excited children of our clients.

Many thanks to all our donors: local churches, retailers and individuals who together have helped by their real generosity to make this a better Christmas for those local people who are most in need. To them, our clients and all our volunteers, we wish a very Happy Christmas.

We will be open as normal on Monday 29th December. Meanwhile, we would be most grateful for further donations of groceries, in particular: long-life milk (especially whole milk), cook-in sauces, breakfast cereals, bottles of squash, washing-up liquid, laundry tablets and toilet rolls.

As ever, we are running very short of bags-for-life and ordinary strong carrier bags. Thank you.
