It felt like we had had a very busy day at Bridgnorth Food Bank on Monday 12th October – and we had! We were able to provide food parcels for eighteen families, seven couples plus one emergency, and fourteen individuals plus two emergencies. This made a total of 51 adults plus 54 children.
We also had a very good supply of donations from local churches and individuals of both groceries and money. Many thanks to all our generous donors at this special time of harvest festivals. Thanks, too, to local retailers for their supply of perishable food, all of which was put to good use.
For all that, we remain in need of more donations in order to meet the growing demand – even a donated single tin or packet is very helpful. As usual, we need tinned meat and fish, tinned soup, breakfast cereals, instant coffee, cartons of long-life milk, bottles of squash, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and pet food (for cats and dogs). At the moment we are well-stocked with pasta, baked beans and empty egg boxes!
On Monday, some kind individuals gave us a number of bags-for-life, but we always seem to be in short supply of these and ordinary strong carrier bags. Any that you can spare us will help us avoid having to buy carrier bags.
Thank you!
